330ml bottle @ Tim's place, Gent. Thanks Koelschtrinker for this. Unclear reddish amber appearance, thin off-white head. Not especially tart or acidic for an oud bruin, and an imperial one at that. Malty with a measured vinous tone, some cherry moments, perhaps some distant wood. Nice sipper.

Gut! 10/11/10/11/12/11

330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, light mahogany, ruby colour with small to average, frothy, fading, dark ochre head, a ring of tiny bubbles remains at the bezel. Vinous, fruity aroma with sweet-ish and sour-ish aspects, notes of dark fruit and berries, black cherry, plum, lingonberry, morello, black raspberry, a touch of plum butter, mild. bretty, funky overtones. Taste is moderately sweet-and-sour fruity, slightly dry woody, mildly bretty, funky, vinous fruitiness with notes of dark fruit and berries, black cherry, plum, lingonberry, morello, black raspberry, blackcurrant, a spicy touch of black pepper and nutmeg, subtle malty hints of milk chocolate, weak oaky overtones; well hidden alcohol. Watery and minimally oily texture, dry, minimally astringent palate, medium, prickly to lively carbonation. Wonderful composition, rich, complex and manifold, well balanced, dangerously drinkable - excellent!

0.33 l bottle from 'Bierothek', bottled October 2020. Almost clear, ruby with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish, slightly sourish, vinous-fruity aroma of balsamic vinegar, red grapes, oak, light caramel and a touch of funk. Minimally sweet, gently sour, rather vinous-fruity, quite woody taste of red wine, balsamic vinegar, lots of oak, leather and some caramel, followed by a medium long, quite tart, fairly woody, gently vinous and slightly funky finish. Medium body, gently astringent and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Fairly complex, rather well-balanced, still quite demanding beer. Really good!

Bottle picked up from Beyond Beer Webshop, Hamburg. Had this Thursday 25th February 2021, listening Tom Robinson sitting in for Marc Riley on 6Music, we had a Spaghetti Bolognese. Pours deep reddy brown colour the head swiftly departed. Aroma of sour cherries, balsamic vinegar and wet, musty wood and a red wine that has been opened and slightly oxidised. Taste is more of the above, tart and tangy but surprising drinkabilty for the abv, it really hides the abv marvellously well.
