Bottle: Copper coloured, stable creamy beige head, visible carbonation; moderate fruity-malty nose with distinctive hops underneath; soft MF, moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied; slightly increasing bitterness towards the juicy-malty finish. Very decent session-beer.........

Bottle from Beverages 4 Less. Amber color with a big off-white head. Light fruit over caramel/brown malt. Sure smells like an ESB. Medium body with mild foamy carbonation. God, it is so ESB. Fruity/floral bitter over smooth malt. Finishes dry and decently bitter. Hope I find the cask version next time in London.

(bottle) Clear, reddish amber colour with a short off-white foamy head. Slightly dusty and sweet malty nose with a toasted touch and very subtle fruity notes. Bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Toasty malty taste with notes of caramel, licorice and a light ethereally touch; moderately bitter finish with a shy fruity touch and faint woody hops . Not really convincing (19.II.09).

Cask-conditioned at the Shakespeare, Bristol 10/02/09. Amber coloured with a frothy white head. Yeast aroma with some earthy malt and hints of hedgerow fruit. Flavour had some sweetness, chewy malt and a long bitter finish. A good pint.

No head. Brown body. Faint wooden nutty aroma. Dry-sweetish wooden caramelly taste with earthy nutty notes. Soft, mild mouthfeel. Lightish body. Dry roasty earthy caramel aftertaste with wooden notes. Long aftertaste. Very nice, and very drinkable. (0.25l cask, Gunmaker’s, Clerkenwell, London.)

Pour is a copper with a large white head. Aroma is not much. Some roasted malt is about all i’m getting off this one. Flavor is again very light with mostly roasted malt but it has a nasty metalic finish. This is not something i’m going to try again.

Two 500ml bottles at Blå Rock Cafe in Tromsø. Clear, golden-amber body with a lasting, white head. Malty to the nose followed by a malt-fruity taste with elements of hop resin. A flash of dry bitterness to the finish. Very average for the style (15th and 16th Oct. 2008).
