Seventh beer on a Wednesday afternoon pub crawl around Shrewsbury with myself, 7th February 2024. Fifth new rating from the seven beers, so going well. Hand-pulled half-pint in Cromwell's Tap Room. Bright and clear amber body, off-white crown that stayed around. Old School Bitter, can't believe I've not rated it before. Fairly sweet with a caramel feel to it's aroma and taste, some hop action calms down the sweetness nicely. A most enjoyable half.

Tastes rich and sweet toasted malty, bready, fruity and herbal with smooth mouthfeel and mild bitter finish. Medium body, oily texture and soft carbonation in palate. Just simple and excellent…

Gift from my brother – drunk at home. Pours a bright sparkling copper with a sizeable frothy off-white head. In the mouth it starts off fruity with malt, nuts and oranges. Later there comes a dry metallic bitterness which swamps the fruit, and reveals a carmale base. Fish is dry with both fruit and bitterness present. A good solid traditional bitter.

14/7/2021. Cask at the Dog & Partridge, on the A628 from Sheffield. Pours clear amber with a small creamy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, biscuit, fruit, hint of camp coffee. Moderate sweetness with medium bitterness. Moderate body, soft carbonation. Developing earthy bitterness to finish. Good looking beer and quite enjoyable..
