Golden Pride is a premium, superior-strength bottled ale.
Brewed to 8.5% ABV, it is equivalent in strength to Belgian Abbey beer or barley wine, and is designed to be consumed in smaller measures than the traditional pint.
Golden Pride is known for its rich malty flavours, good balance, and notes of orange oil, toasted grain and spicy fruitcake. The late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, labelled it 'the Cognac of beers'.

Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a clear dark amber colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is rich caramel and roasted malt. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a super liqourice nutty caramel palate. Super smooth and very tasty.

0.33l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a dark amber-red colored beer with a small islandy and sidesticking head. Nice aroma, some sugary canned fruit mix, a little bit of butter, some oxidation also. It had a nice oily mouthfeel witch a small prickling carbonation level. It has some oxidation in the taste also, even if the bottle is not that old it's still noticeable. Some red fruity sweet thing here, a dark malty flavor that I really like. It's really integrated and hard to tear apart. A fine one! 08.06.2013

Small shortlasting head. Aroma is lots of caramel malts, dried fruits, nuts, toffee, grass. Taste is sweet, caramel malts, toffee, nuts, chocolate, grass. Medium bitterness. Not my favorite style.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with small white head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel. Sweet flavour of malt and caramel with subtle touches of raisins. Warming alcohol presence. Slightly rough aftertaste. Nice.

Bottle at Fiddler. Pours clear amber with an off white head. Aroma of red fruit, caramel, candy, butterscotch, sweet malt. Flavour is over moderate sweet and light moderate bitter. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
