Golden Pride is a premium, superior-strength bottled ale.
Brewed to 8.5% ABV, it is equivalent in strength to Belgian Abbey beer or barley wine, and is designed to be consumed in smaller measures than the traditional pint.
Golden Pride is known for its rich malty flavours, good balance, and notes of orange oil, toasted grain and spicy fruitcake. The late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, labelled it 'the Cognac of beers'.

Bottle @home. Pours slightly hazy amber with creamy white head. Medium body, average carbonation, fair lacing, slightly oily texture, bitter finish. Well balanced between hops and malts. Grainy, bread, caramel, dried fruits, notes of honey. Very satisfactory.

Cask @ The Grove, Huddersfield. Dark copper with a thin head. Strong tasting, with a sticky sweetness in its texture, and sugary-sweet in both aroma and taste.

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours clear amber with a small offwhite head that quickly dissipates while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is malty and fruity with caramel, toffee, pears, soil, lemon peal and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty and herbal. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny syrupy, astringent, slightly boozy and medium bodied. Finish is long, sweet, bitter, peppery boozy and metallic. --- Beer merged from original tick of Golden Pride on 04 Feb 2016 at 18:20 - Score: 6. Original review text: Tasting @ work. Solid strong malt base but having a hard time with the metallic bitterness.

Deep amber to copper colour. Moderate head. Good retention & lacing. Nose of nectar, water melon jam, floral, spicy hop. Medium to full body. Sticky. Complex taste. Caramel, toffee, melon, nectar, notable medium grassy bitterness. Excellent balance. Long bittersweet finish. Great.

Cask@Charlies Bar, Copenhagen - pours dark Amber with an off white head and lacing. Aroma and taste is sweet malty with caramel, brown sugar, fruit cake like with some nice dried fruit action, some light fruity spices, great condition, very nice. Rated this pretty low on bottle back in 2012, but this is a different beast on cask. Lovely. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
