Bottle picked up from Bachanalia, Cambridge, Tuesday 17th December 2013 consumed the same day. Bottle No:172 Pours pitch black with mid/large sized tan head, thick in the mouth with lots of burnt sugar and mollasses. A little bitterness, sticky, oily. Some very intense liquorice infused bonfire toffee but tangy also. This is better when left 15-20 mins, this is actually very nice. A7 A5 T8 P4 Ov14 3.8

6th December 2013
Pigs Ear. Opaque black - brown beer. Little pale tan head. Palate is smooth and dry. Rich dark malt, something that tastes like rum. Spice and candy fruits underneath. Little coca cola. Dried fruits - tangy. Semi dry finish. Not bad at all!

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear 2013. It pours darkest brown with a minimal beige head. The nose is rich, boozy, rum, roasted malt, toast, earth, candy, spice and cola cubes. The taste is wood, earth, warming alcohol, candy, cola, vanilla, liquorice, chewy malt, toast and a touch of spice, Full body, soft carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Not a whole lot of depth, but good fun.
