This Christmas, put down the sherry and pour yourself a glass of Blitzen instead. This cheeky little festive number is made with cascade and goldings hops, orange and mixed peels. A real winter warmer, apart from good friends and family, Blitzen is the perfect companion to celebrate the holiday season. The flavour is stunning and we are proud of this beauty.
Blitzen will be available on cask in pubs across the country during the festive period.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 31 Jan 2025) Ruby colour with foamy, beige head. Malty nose with notes of caramel, dark bread, dried fruit and prunes. Malty taste with caramel, chocolate, dried fruit, toast, prunes and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Well balanced winter ale. Quite nice.

Bottle from HOTM. Pours a clear dark brown, with small off-white head. Aroma is nutty, roasty malts, brown sugar, light floral hop. Taste has less nuttiness and more chocolate compared to aroma but broadly the same. Not picking up much if any orange peel listed on ingredients which is a shame. Clean tasting, easy drinking. Decent overall.

Bottle with Saturday lunch because why not! Lovely rich and dark colour in the glass with some lacing. The taste and mouthfeel is that of a dark beer that is well made and very pleasant. Maybe slightly over carbonated, but a perfect lunchtime pint.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours clear, red-brown with a small, foamy tan head. Light-medium sweet flavour with notes of toasted bread, some whole grains, a little earth, leaf, dried berries. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with more dry, toasted malts, earth, a little English yeast, hint of dry toffee. Tasty stuff overall.
