Don't let the delicate purple crushed velvet tones of this beer fool you. This is no super-sweet cordial. Fruity and refreshing it may be, but it packs a tart sour pucker-punch too.

440 ml can, from the brewery webshop. ABV is 4.5%. Deep red to purple colour, moderate pink head. Aroma of blackcurrants and lactic acid as expected, also some unexpected hints of broth, meat and spices. Light bodied. The flavour is not very sweet, but not extremely sour or tart either. Moderate notes of blackcurrants, fairly refreshing.

Keg at Beerhawk Southbank, 04/03/20. Ribena red with a decent faded beetroot cap. Nose is blackcurrant chews, grass, light damp cloth, hedgerow berries. Taste comprises sharp Vimto notes, mellow red berry tang, grassy, blackcurrant yoghurt. Medium bodied, light spritzy carbonation, semi drying close with a very light sour tang. Average stuff ... fruit beer aims at token sour.

Draft. A hazy red beer with a lazing white head. The aroma has notes of blackcurrant, brett, and lemons. The flavor is sour with notes of blackcurrant, brett, lemons, and malt, leading to a tart finish.
