Haast’s Eagle was the largest eagle known to have ever flown the skies, large enough to grasp prey the size of a small child. The largest fossilised example was found by Haast in New Zealand hence we’ve gone big with the New Zealand hops Motueka, Nelson Sauvin and Waimea in this juicy DDH Pale.

23/8/2023. Cask at the 44th Peterborough Beer Festival. Pours cloudy pale yellow gold with a small frothy white head. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, lemon, gooseberry, passion fruit, touch of soap. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness, touch of tart. Moderate body, a little creamy, soft carbonation. Enjoyable.

Can. Hazy yellowish gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Smooth and semi dry palate, decent fine carbonation. Light dry creamy sweet malts. Bitter tangy spicy harsh hops. A little piney citrus. Harsh tangy bitter finish. Fuck me, way not to present NZ hops or any hops frankly. Thin, dry and feckin harsh. Your better than this Brew York, what happened here?

Can from The Made Inn Ashford and drunk at home. Turbid gold colour lasting white head. It's like a sharp orange or grapefruit. . Ooh it really is quite sharp. Greengage. Interesting though. Dry and bitter finish. Weird but funny as hell.

Can from Brew York Brewery Shop, York. Hazy lighter amber with a small head. Has a striking fruited citrus bitterness which comes across a little more grapefruit than the advertised gooseberry for me. Its strength is fairly well hidden.
