Haast’s Eagle was the largest eagle known to have ever flown the skies, large enough to grasp prey the size of a small child. The largest fossilised example was found by Haast in New Zealand hence we’ve gone big with the New Zealand hops Motueka, Nelson Sauvin and Waimea in this juicy DDH Pale.

Cask @ Town Mouse, Newcastle [060917]
Golden, light haze, bubbly white head
Aroma of soft pale fruits, soft citrus, soft orange, sweet fruits
Taste of soft sweet citrus, sweet pale malt background, sweet fruits
Palate - medium body, quite oily, bit sticky, getting dab of alcohol, sweet beer. Finish of sweet pale malts, light alcohol
Overall - Alcohol a bit prominent in this, bit over sweet for me

Cloud golden with a medium white head. Aroma had notes of peach and lime. Flavor was on the sweet side with a good amount of hops giving it notes of peach, mandarin and lemon. Finished slightly bitter.
