Cask at Draft House Seething Lane. Nil aroma. Dark amber. Thin bubbly head. Light bitter. Sweeter end. Light bodied. Watery. Flat. Astringent finish. Hum druummmm.

Handpull cask at the Gate, Sawbridgeworth. Lighter shade of gold, clear and fairly flat with only a touch of white head. Citrus and papaya aroma with a dank metallic note. Taste is bittersweet and complex: the hops provide the flavour but never quite dominate. Finish is long a more bitter than what came before. Touch of sulphur in the aftertaste. This is surprisingly good, although it’s odd that Watneys would be resurrected in whatever guise.

Tried at the Golden Eagle, Lincoln. Rich golden colour with a white head. Aroma malty, taste a touch thin. Not great.

Cask@ Gallows real ale festival. Poured golden color with a thin white head.  Ripe fruits,  dried apricots,  floral notes in aroma. Flavor has dark fruits,  hops,  floral notes.  Some sulphur notes in aroma later on. Bit stale.
