We’re exploring another lesser known style with Rorschach. Fermented cold and lagered for over 7 weeks Rorschach is full of smooth chocolate, raisin, and coffee flavours. Finishes clean and surprisingly light to make it extremely drinkable for a dark beer.

440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Herbarium. ABV is 8.1%. Black colour, large to moderate tan head. Aroma of roast malts and mild coffee, hints of dark chocolate and liquorice. Rich mouthfeel. The flavour is medium sweet, with the same elements as the aroma, and a slightly salty finish. Moderate hops, a little more bittering hops would not hurt. A fine beer as it is, though.

0.44 l can from 'Beerdome', canned in January 2021. Black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty and slightly fruity aroma of caramel, dark chocolate, coffee and a touch of dark fruits. Quite sweet, malty, gently roasty, a little fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, a touch of ash and traces of dark fruits, followed by a short, gently roasty-bitter, slightly earthy finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Well-balanced, nicely smooth and moreish.
