Quite sweet and malty. Woody, fruity and vinous. Lots of flavors going on, all of them nice, but not that heavy or boozy. A very nice beer.

0.33 l bottle from ’De Bierkoning’, 2013 vintage, bottled in January 2016. Clear, very dark ruby with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, a little fruity and relatively spicy aroma of raisins, caramel, cinnamon, coriander seeds, maybe a touch of red wine and some oak. Sweet, malty, slightly fruity and a little spicy taste of caramel, raisins, red wine, cinnamon and oak, followed by a long, slightly vinous, rather warming and a quite yeasty-spicy finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. The taste is more impressive than the aroma, and all in all this is a very decent sipper. I am not sure what the critics expect from a beer only because it is made by Struise, I really like it though.
WersjaChateau margeax. Pyszny, dosc sesyjny dzieki lezakowi, nie ciezki ale wciaz pelen typowych nut ciemnych belgow. Owoce, kawa, czekolada
