Tap at the 7th Vriendenbock. Aránylag korrekt (aka középszerű) aroma és ízvilág után olyan fémes lecsengéssel zár, ami azon nyomban tönkrevágja az egész kóstolási élményt.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is sweetish malt with caramel, soft yeasty notes, toffee, some dried fruits, and a metallic touch. Flavour is sweet with a moderate sharp bitterness. Body is medium. Not as yeasty as I like my Weizenbock, decent but lacks smoothness.

Small cream-coloured head over copperish golden-brown beer. Caramel, sweet malts, not very outspoken aromas. Lots of caramel again, yet some bitterness, artichoke, vegetable bitter. Finish has hints of chocolate and sweet chestnut. Medium bodied, slick, well-carbonated. Not half bad, but flavourwise much more timid than its ridiculous name.

330ml bottle [7.0% abv]. Minimally cloudy, reddish, dark amber colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Minimally sugary, crystal and caramel malty aroma, a fruity hoppy touch of red berries. Taste is sweet-ish, slightly nutty, minimally sugary, crystal and caramel malty, a touch of hazelnut and peanut, fruity hoppy overtones with a touch of red berries. Watery texture, slightly dry palate, medium, prickly carbonation. Rather light, no Bock character whatsoever - so-so.

Saturday 27th March 2021. Tasting session with myself, six beers; this is the sixth one. 33cl bottle (7% ABV): BB 16th Jul 2021. Red hue to the amber body, off-white speckled head. Sweet and malty, not the best Bock I've come across, but decent enough.

Bottle from Beer 52 Pleasant aroma of roast malts and figs. Pours a rich reddish brown with a small transient beige head (had a greenish tinge to it). Wonderfully rich and malty in the mouth, with hazelnuts, berry fruits, figs and a hint of chocolate. Mild fruitiness in the finish. Very easy drinking for its strength. Excellent – one for savouring !

Bottle from Beerwulf. Pours a murky chestnut brown colour with a small soapy looking off-white head. Aromas of nuts, caramel and brown bread. Taste is the same notes again with an added slight citrusy hop bitterness. Fairly light bodied, very slightly oily mouthfeel and a fair amount of carbonation. it’s an ok beer.

Thuis uit een flesje. Licht troebel roodbruine kleur, weinig beige schuim. Aroma aangenaam, zacht. Smaak wat licht voor de benaming, niet heel uitgesproken. Goed dat het niet te zoet is.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg. Hazy copper brown with an off-white head. Caramel aroma with some dark and red fruits and some leather. Taste is sweet with a sweet to medium bitter finish. Medium body and quite low in carbonation. More like a Belgian dubbel than a typical bock but still tasty enough.
