Deep red brown beer, aery irregular light beige head, unstable, falls down quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: good roasted malts, a hint of chocolate, some caramel, ripe to overripe banana, yeasty, spicy touch, some coriander. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: malty start, gentle roast, bitter, some cold coffee, musty, a bit stale, dusty, some coriander. Aftertaste: bitter, soft roast, some cocoa powder, again with the coriander, cardboard, stale, don’t like it very much, and yet it was the best of the 5 beers we’ve tried. Oh boy.

Tap at the brewpub. Hazy dark brown with short lasting beige head. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, earthy funk, dead leaves, soft dried plums, mineral. Light sweet and medium bitter. Under medium bodied. This one has a light infection obviously, but it’s actually not too bad.

On tap the at the brewpub. 21/07/2015 two days after the Etape du Tour. Mid amber / orange coloured pour with a fading greyish cream head. Aroma is terrible solvent apple, woody, mess. Nail polish remover. Flavour is composed of woody apple, burnt sugar, rusty penny, terrible Palate is thin and watery, semi sweet moderate carbonation. Pretty shitty.

Draught @ Au Brasseur, 22, rue des Veaux, Strasbourg, France 67000.Clear medium to dark amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, stra, roasted, chestnut, light yeasty, earthy. Flavour is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, chestnut, earthy. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20121003]

On tap at the brewpub. Reddish/brown coloured, small off-white head, light caramel in the nose. Slight roasted malt, mild dried fruits and caramel with short dryish finish. Unfortunately quite watery. Not good.

Biggish offwhite lasting head. Slightly hazy amber body. Roasty oily grassy aroma is very faint. Dry-sweet roasty malty strawy taste with grassy herbal notes. Light body. Mild, faintly mealy mouthfeel. Dry grassy toffee aftertaste with chalky notes. Decent, but too low on taste. (0.15l draft at brewpub.)
