2006 Bottle from Beer_Hawk, Thanks! Nose is very light with a little caramel and a cinnamon note; dark copper color with a tiny beige head which quickly disappears; malty flavor with a caramel hint, but really no spiciness. I can detect a tiny amount of hops in the finish.

2006 version. Deep amber-copper body with a medium, dissipating off-white head. Sweet, cerealy aroma with grassy hops and berries. The body is lighter than I expected, cerealy and toasty, with light sweetness paired with grassy hops. Unbalanced acidity mars the palate. Would that the aroma was an indication of the body...

2005. This beer just didn’t seem to have the umph one expects in a Chritstmas/winter ale. Poured copper color with moderate head. If you work at it, you can get a nose of sweet malts and spice. These are more apparent in the flavor which yields cinnamon and nutmeg and a bit of sweetness underneath. Smooth, crisp finish with a fading bitter aftertaste. Thin going on medium body. Better Christmas ales are available.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a ruby caramel color with a medium sized creamy tan head. There aroma is vaguely malty and yeasty with an almost tea like undertone. The flavor is sour malt with a hint of spice and lots of nut. The finish is rather bitter.
