440ml can shared with Finn at Agenturet Øl og Vinbar. Good looking with a solid off-white head to a clear copper coloured body. Crocheted lacing. Earth and brown malty nose, slightly roasted. Malt-driven taste of brown malts and earth. Nicely roasted malty end, mid-sweet. Drinks very well. Likable. (Tromsø 19.12.2018).

Keg at the Real Ale Classroom, Stoneygate. Reddish brown and clear with a massive off-white head. Gentle roast malt on the nose, with some birch and gluey resin. Sweet malty taste with a lingering resinous note in the finish. Decent enough but not particularly memorable.

Can at home picked up from Beer Merchants. A clear deep copper reddy amber coloured pour with a lasting beige cap. Aroma is nice toasted cereal grains, light figgy notes, hints of marmelade on toast and light bark. Flavour is composed of dry cereal malts, toast, dried fruits, bark. Firm grassy hop bitterness. Finish is dry with a little harshness. Palate is prickly, highish carboantion, very dry, flinty finish. Good character.

Nose is biscuit, caramel, dried fruits, grass, toasted grains, brown bread. Taste comprises biscuit malt, toffee, straw, mellow yeast esters, light spice, crackers, grains, fruit loaf. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a mellow hop touch. Decent chuggable Vienna.

Clear mahogany brown colour with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have strong caramelised malt sugars. Balanced well with floral hops.
