Bottle at Firkin Alehouse Folkestone. Black beer lasting beige head. Flemish sour aroma. Part imperial stout part Flemish sour. Some dark chocolate. Some vinous red wine. Light sour. Balsamic vinegar. Light sweetness. Good carbonation. Wild odd. Dark chocolate red sour fruits. Light Brett. Odd. It's a cross of imperial stout and sour Flemish. Weird. Good though. Not sure it's entirely harmonious

Bottle from Geers. Dark brown colour, beige foam. Nose of red wine, roasted matls, wood. Taste is vinous, brett, red wine, light roastiness. Again a very nice tart beer from De La Senne. But I wouldn't call this an imperial stout.

Medium but stable tan head over black beer with almost hidden reddish highlights. Surprising sourish-sweetish nose, very much like a Flemish brown, including vinous aromas, red fruit, especially sour cherries but also redcurrant, lactic acid and even a point of acetic. Wine-drenched wood, bit of black chocolate. Faint roast, dry charcoal-like with an overlying flavour of chocolate, wet wood, and some red wine, albeit pretty muted, not at all like the glittering promesses in the nose. Still - again a, lightly subdued, Flemish brown. Medium bodied, very faint acidthinning, quite slick and a bit lean finish. Good carbonation. Nice, no mistake there. BUT... what the blurb on the label means by Bière blonde is beyond me!
