15 October 2023. At In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst. Cheers to Kim, Tim & Shmupi for sharing!

Vintage 2016. Hazy red, no head. Intense aroma of cherry flesh, cherry juice & cherry pit, cake, almond, dough, cheese, wet wood, vanilla, fermenting red apple, vague rosemary. Taste has sour cherry, blackcurrant and nectarine in a sour-creamy, sourdough-like and slightly sweetish almondy malt body with lemony edges; somewhat herbal, oaky. Very tart, mouth-puckering finish, offerings lots of cherry flesh & pit, lactic acid, funky balsamic vinegar and 'wet' woody tannins. Medium body, oily-vinous texture, flat carbonation. Intense, next-level Kriek profile with a profound taste.

0,75l bottle at home. Vintage 2016. BB 2036. dark brown color, almost not head. smells nutty, marzipan, wood, cherry notes, wine barrel notes, some berry notes, light green apples, some funk, hints of vinegar. lovely smell. medium to full body, very light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of cherries, some funk, wood, vinegar, nutty. finishes rather sour and quite dry with notes of wood, cherries and vinegar. nice one, very lovely smell, but quite sour / vinegarish, apart form that lacks a bit complexity on the taste. overall still quite nice beer.
