Imperial Stout Aged in Bourbon Barrels with Hazelnuts

Grey Monday is a special, limited edition version of our Black Tuesday imperial stout to which we’ve added hazelnuts to the barrels while the beer ages. Originally concocted for a molecular gastronomy dinner at a favorite Orange County restaurant a few years ago, this variation on our already popular stout was an instant hit both among the restaurant diners and our own staff, begging to be brewed again and bottled up.

Side by side, the hazelnut is dominant here. Creamy.

Zajebisty aromat. Melasa, burbonowa beczka, czekolada, ciekne owoce. Piekny ryli. W uscie niestety duzo pusciej. Alko przyzwoicie schowane acz rzeczjasna obecne.

Sample at Tomahawk Warrior’s First Birthday party on 06/06/2015: Pours a clear deep brown color with ruby around the edges. Medium thick foamy tan head that diminishes slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, hazelnut and bourbon. Full-bodied and sticky with a sweet hazelnut and malt character, plus a warming booze and chocolate flavor. The finish is roasty with a nutty bourbon aftertaste. Gimmicky yes, but really good.
