# 4269; 6/2024. Malty, honey, caramel, liquorice aroma. Clear ruby body, off-white head. Sweet, dark honey, alcohol warmth, floral, herbal. I like barley wine but this one doesnt fit me. Too sweet! 0,1 l, tasting board, draught, craft-beer bar, Prague.

Riverside Beer Fest 22. Aroma is all dark fruits and malts. I should give Fig Rolls a go. Dark brown. Stygian. Creamy beige head retreats to the rim. The malts and dark fruits are present in the flava but the barrel aging takes over for booze and salt? Is that pretty? Light-medium bodied. Slick to oily. Average prickly carbonation. Enjoyable stuff yes.

Tap (Stu Mostów, Wrocław). Mocno słodowe, bardzo gładkie z subtelną nutka ciemnych owoców, pełne w odbiorze, bardzo dobre.

15/5/2021. Bottle shared at the IpsCol beer share. Pours dark amber brown with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is sweet, toffee, fruit, golden syrup. Medium plus sweetness and light bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Nice.

Pretty red waxed bottle. drink with friend in my home yesterday. no to pojechali, jedno z lepszych barley wine jakie pilem w zyciu, tresciwe, dobrze wywarzone, perfekcyjnie beczkowe, ziolowe i chmielno-wytrawne na koniec. posmak i ogrzanie niesamowicie pozostaje na bardzo dlugo, tak dlugo niczym rozwiane wlosy aktorki M. Vasaryova w filmie Jiriego Menzla wg powiesci Hrabala. piana srednia, ciemna barwa brazowa klarowne ale z pieknym rubinowym odcieniem. mnostwo wanili, keks z rodzynkami, figi, daktyle, ten blend i 2 lata w 2 roznych beczkach. Genialne, moj TOP barleywine.

Hazy deep amber beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. There is a nice roundness to the mouthfeel here, but other than that, its hefty 13% abv is very well hidden. Smooth rich malts, a light creamy sweetness goes well with some very fruity caramel. Touch of ripe red berries. Smooth bourbon barrel, light vanilla with a smooth ripe bourbon soaked fruits. Nice job. And then there is the Vermouth barrel! Say what now? Vermouth barrel is a thing? Well I have been drinking Vermouth since the mid 70s and am rather partial to it. And yes, there is some obvious Vermouth floral herbyness along with the typical ripe winey berry fruits. A very mild dollop of spice on the smooth finish. Wowsers! Where the fuck did this come from? Assured, complex, delivers on its description and goes down dangerously easy. Rather splendid.

Chocolate, caramel, malt, bourbon, smooth, alcoholic, tasty, bit rough around the edges, bready, some bitterness, decent stuff, and for this price it’s great value..
