Can, 0.44l. Murky, muddy deep brown pour, one finger frothy beige head. Short lasting, leaving a bit of lacing on the glass. Quite nice on the nose, sweet, milk chocolate and coffee, subtle roast in the background. Medium body, soft carbonation. Average mouthfeel and texture, somewhat lightweight, soft, slightly chewy. Sweet taste with some roasty bitterness in the background. Aroma of caramel and toffee, milk chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. Nutty and earthy notes. Medium lasting finish, dry, lingering roasty bitterness. Good one.

440ml can, #722, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Durable, airy, bubbly, fawn-coloured head to a coal black body. Crocheted lacing on the glassware. Promising cocoa powder on the nose, nicely roasted. Well blended taste of cocoa, earth, and liquorice supported by dark fruits. Subdued notes of coffee to a smoothly roasted end, not too sweet. Fine bodied. Enjoyed on a quiet Friday afternoon at home. (Tromsø 08.01.2021).

Canned 440ml. -from Goblet Zagreb. Black coloured, small beige head, light chocolate in the nose. Light roasted malt, milk chocolate, mild coffee and caramel with mild dry bitter finish.

Can. Pours hazy very dark brown with very small tan head. Clear aroma of roast and caramel, with malty and coffeelike touches. Bitter, roasty flavour, with notes of coffee and touches of lactose and caramel malt and yeast. Bitter, roasty and coffeelike aftertaste with notes of yeast. Decent.

Can, 6.6%. Weak coffee and ash aroma. The colour is black and seems slightly unclear. Big stable creamy brown head. The flavour starts off with a distinct coffee note. Later turns roasted and bready with rye bread notes. Fairly sweet middle to finish. Distinct bitterness, leaving a quinine feel in the aftertaste. Low carbonation. Thin to medium mouthfeel. A bit too sweet for me after some sips.

440ml can from Sophie's Beer Store, Shrewsbury. Drunk at home. It's a dark brown beer, almost opaque, with very little off-white head. Some milk chocolate and ground robusta coffee in the aroma, with touches of sweet cream, plums and paper. Sweet taste, with mild coffee flavour at the front, balanced with some lightly bitter earthy hop notes near the long finish. Red grape and more milky coffee on the finish. Medium carbonation. Decent but a little unbalanced in my opinion.

440ml can sophiesbeerstore.co.uk. Deep dark brown, good beige head. Aroma of sweet milk chocolate, soft roast. Continues to taste with a silky palate. The coffee doesn't especially jump out at you, the overall character reliant on a straightforward, yet satisfying, milk stout feel with measured chocolate and vanilla notes. Ok.
