Bottle from Waitrose, York. Amver in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. Hedgerow hops, fruity sweetness, rip and full cereal malts, a touch of nettle sharpness leading to a dryish finish. Good.

[50cl bottle from Waitrose, Bracknell.] A copper coloured pour with a tight cream head; aroma of earthy Kentish hops and rich malts; full bodied with a sweet caramel taste; then a drier finish with a touch of spice from the hops. A nice old-fashioned heavy bitter.

500ml bottle: BB Jun 2021. Bought in the Waitrose at Newport (Shropshire). Poured into an 'Old Speckled Hen' vase shaped pint glass. Clear amber body, short lived off-white head. Malty front to the aroma and taste, plenty of fruity hops around too.

Bottle from Waitrose, West Byfleet. Pine aroma with a some fruitless but these are diminished by an overpowering waft of boiled veg and eggs. Light brown. Creamy white head. Medium quinine bitter. Some burnt caramel and spice but then marred by a buttery finish. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Fizzy carbonation. Dry slightly astringent finish. What I expected - nonbalnce so it ends up quinine bitter. And that butteriness is an own goal. Not a drain pour but not a good beer.
