Bottle from a now unrecalled source. Poured pale gold with a small bubbly white head. Light aroma of fruit, caramel and malt. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness. Light to medium body, average to soft carbonation.

There’s not much memorable about this one, good or bad. It’s distinctly average.

Amber, small beige head. A little remaining carbonation. Smells of honeyed orchard fruits and hard spices. Moderately sweet with some biscuits and some sticky caramel. Gentle but lingering bitterness. For a bottled bitter this is fine.

bottle, pours deep gold with a thin white head. Aroma is floral hop and light hay. Light malty flavors end with a light bitterness. Easy drinker, but kind of boring.

Cask at the Angel, Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire, on the latest leg of the Thames Tipple 11-04-09 Pours more light amber than gold, although in the poor light of the pub it could have appeared darker, thin white bubly head. Bit tangy with some lasting bitterness, also a bit fruity and with some hops on the nose. Not the best from Brakspear I’m afraid. A6 A3 F5 P3 Ov10 2.7

Bottle at home... This is one of those beers that i wasnt looking forward to that much but from the first taste found to be a delight ... slightl hazy amber ... sweet metalic nose not so nice ... sweet (prob why i liked it ) fuirty juicy and in tasting (not drinking) the metalic flavour is more present ... on drinking the metalicness is barly noticible and your left with a nice caramel malt with a ligth hop

500ml bottle from Sainsbury. Brakspear yeasty aroma, with some hop and some toffee malt. It’s clearly a Brakspear beer, that yeast aroma is very distinctive. Some hop sting on the end. Fine.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Pale amber with next to no head. A standard bottled bitter. Some fruit and grassy hop aroma. the flavour had a touch of sweet malt and a dry finish. Ok.

Bottle from Sainsbury, Heyford Hill, Oxford Poured light golden in colour with white head. Nice fruity slightly crisp and hoppy beer with a lovely smooth balance between bitterness and honey sweetness. Really enjoyed this beer.
