Bottle. Dark brown body practically without any head. Strong, almost intense aroma af sweet malt, caramel, dry fruit and vinous alcohol with some well integrated Bourbon notes. Flavor is rich malty, quite sweet, dry fruit, caramel, good bitterness, tickling alcohol, vinous, vanilla, wood and quite soft Bourbon. Rich, soft body with long lasting aftertaste. Tasty and very balanced, a classic big beer.

Draught@TCBW2018. Deep coppery brown colour with a quickly vanishing small off-white head. Aroma is bourbon, some burnt sugar, caramel, toffee and a mild alcohol touch to it. Flavour is burnt sugar, some bourbon, vanilla, wood, caramel and some ripe fruitiness. Wellbalanced and really nice.

14 January 2022. At De Kelk, Brugge. Shared with the lovely Anke!

Hazy dark brown, thinning, tan head. Aroma of all kinds of alcohol: triple sec, brown rum, herbal liqueur, bourbon, also candied date, apricot, melting fudge, green apple, vanilla. Taste has very sweet date, plum & pear in a brown-sugary malt body, hint of fudge, vague liquorice and a bit toasty. Herbal hoppy finish, caramelly with dried fruit, wood and boozy bourbon alcohol. Full body, syrupy texture, soft carbonation. Very heavy BW, quite delicious.

Deep amber body under a small, fast disappearing beige head. Aroma has dark malt, dry fruit and Bourbon. Taste is dominated by Bourbon, otherwise dark malt, caramel, dry fruit and alcohol in general. Fine body and long lasting, rather boozy aftertaste. A bit sweet & boozy but all over quite nice Barley wine.

Flavour of caramel, bourbon, cocoa, licorice, dates and some alcohol warmth in the end. Has a silky mouth feel, full-bodied and a light bitterness. Incredble rich and pretty well balanced.
