Die Starkbierspezialität für Februar bis April. Eigens eingebraut für die Freunde eines dunklen Doppelbocks mit herber Note. Mit unserer „ausgefuxten“ Technik zeigen wir hier, dass Bockbiere viel mehr können als nur malzig zu sein. Viel mehr heißt für uns hier eine Harmonie zwischen stark und herb.

Schön malzig-süßlicher Geruch. Der Antrunk ist süß-malzig und schön vollmundig. Das Bier macht schon im Antrunk einen dickflüssig-sirupartigen Eindruck. Zum Hauptteil wird der dunkle Doppelbock röstmalzig-schokoladig. Eine Herbe ist nicht wahrnehmbar. Der Nachgeschmack ist sehr lang-anhaltend, schön malzig-wärmend und angenehm süß.

Draft as Stachelbier at the Christkindl Markt in Landshut. Dark clear brown color, head before the poker is medium tan, and afterward is massive, thick, creamy and hot. Aroma of burnt caramel. Taste is nutty caramel. Decent.

Lahev (@Pivni Rozmanitost v Praze): Chestnut-amber coloured, mid-sized off-white head with a little lace, moderate nutty and fruity to dark-malty nose; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; hoppier in the drier bitter-sweet finish. Nice, well balanced and well drinkable....

Bottle 500ml. @ PBF2012.Clear medium to dark brown amber colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, bread, caramel, brown sugar. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, bread, caramel, brown sugar, very bock alike. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120727]

Bottled@PBF2012. Deep amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is caramel, alcohol, some sweet malts and mild glue. Flavour is sweet malts and some mild sugary notes. Balanced and ok.

Bottled at PBF. Clear nut brown, small head. Aroma of sweet heavy rye bread. Medium-full body with firm, well rounded mouthfeel. Slightly raisiny, lots of bread, mildly bitter finish. Nicely balanced and drinkable doppelbock.

Bottle. Dark chocolate, tart cherry malt aroma with light astringency. Dark reddish brown color with moderate head. Sweet red cherry, toffee malt flavor with light astringent finish. Nice balance - body on the light side. Pretty solid doppelbock - maybe shouldn’t have waited for the hottest day of the year to try it.
