Schnapp-Fläschla: Haz, amber coloured with a reddish sheen, small persistent off-white head, moderate sweet-bitter sroma of dried fruits, caramel and malt with bready and yeasty traces, shy woody hops in the background; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, not overly soft; moderate bitter-sweet finish with - indeed - cellary aromas and a delicate alcohol-burn in the aftertaste. Quite mediocre by franconian standards…

500ml Bottle - Dark amber with a small head. Caramel, marmalade, rye bread, aniseed and thyme in the aroma. Nicely balanced and slightly chewy taste with aniseed, orange, herbs, sultanas and rye bread detected.

Weich herb-karamellig rauchiger Antrunk. Spritzig, angenehme Süße. Würzig, die Rauchnoten steigen an, süffig. Milde Hopfigkeit, die auf einer Stufe mit der Herbe steht. Süßlich herb-hefiger Nachhall, etwas brotig. 10/12/11/11/10/11

Bottle 500ml. w. swing top @ home on the terrace. [ As Beck Bräu Kellerbock ].ABV: 7.0%. Clear medium orange amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, caramel, sweet malt, sugary malt. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, sweet malt, caramel, sugay malt, bread. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20140622]

Flasche von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin. - "Kellerbock" - schon der Name ist verlockend: ist das nun ein Kellerbier mit höherer Drehzahl oder ein naturtrübes Bockbier? - Das Bier ist orangerot und leicht trüb; der bescheidene Schaum verschwindet rasch. In der Nase süßer Fruchtcocktail und Karamelmalz. Antrunk kräftig karamelmalzig, leicht sirupartig und leider auch recht dumpf-bitter. Zwischendurch blitzt eine kurze spritzig-fruchtige Note auf, unterstützt von guter Rezenz. Anklänge von Schinken. Im Abgang dominiert herber Bitterhopfen ohne feinere Aromen. Längerer, ordinär bitterer Nachtrunk. - Fazit: der Kellerbock ist ein etwas grobschlächtiges Bockbier ohne besondere Kellerbiereigenschaften. Mein Exemplar hatte lt. Etikett nur 7 %.

On tap at Battersea BF 09. Unfiltered. It’s a bit muddy and slightly vegetal. Coal dust. Some dry malt, bit too vegetal.
