Bottle. Clear gold/yellow with a very lovely white head. Aroma of peat, smoke, hay and malts. Taste of malts, smoke, a barn full of cute goats, peat and hay with a little bit of liquorice a dash of grapefruit in the background. Zesty, earthy and spicy. Moderate bitterness. Medium carbonation. Alcohol is very well incorporated. Very balanced and dangerously drinkable. Rather unusual but tremendous Maibock. Brilliant.

Pax Bräu Maibock, jetzt mit 7,8 %, Literflasche aus Pax-Bräu Halbjahres-Abo. - Satt goldgelb, klar. Probierenswert! (22.5.2024.)

Optisch klares Gold, ordentlich Schaum.

Bottle courtesy of Jonas many thanks!. Consumed with München Ratebeer Tasting group at Jonas's, Garching, Wednesday 21st August 2019. Pours gold with a white head, soft in the mouth, nice warmth from the abv, malty, a touch of smoke, great beer.

Bottle. Nose is almost apple, sweet, wheat. Palate is sweet, wheat, a bit dirty almost. Meh.

1L bottle. Amber, great lasting head. Sweet nutty nose, hint of smoke, flavor adds great balanced bitterness. Much preferable to most Maibock I've tried.

Bottle. Unclear golden color with white head. Aroma is fresh hops, honey, marmalade, earthy, herbal, smokey. Taste is the same, earthy, again marmalade, cooked veggies, smoke, leathery, bitter herbal finish. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Fun!

Schnapp-Fläschla (0,01hl, label says 7.8%):Golden, hazy, bigger firm and stable white head; distinctive aromas of pale malt, smoked malt and - weaker - lemony hops; pretty solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied, a bit tart; lingering dryish fruity-bitter and smoky and malty finish. An unusual Bock, nevertheless very moreish...
