Draft at MBCC 2023, Green session. Poured a crystal clear medium amber colour with a big lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, light toffee, floral hops. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, rich, toffee caramel,woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap. Rather clear amber-ruby color with white head. Aroma is bready, caramel, grains, cereals, earthy hopspice. Taste is the same, good bitterness and breadiness. Silky mouthfeel, medium to high carbonation. Solid.

Bottle from Yamaoka. Been waiting a long time to try this. Hope it lives up to my expectations. Not sure what, if anything, Mikkeller had to do with this, but, well, who cares? Toasty, nutty nose, bit of apple and cherry, caramel, whole wheat bread. Nice. Hazy deep brown with orange tints, more the darkness of a dunkel, I would think, but pretty. Very nutty, toasty, caramel, fruity. Dark chocolate, caramel, with a relatively dry, toasty finish accompanied by some herbal hop bitterness. Light in body. Eminently quaffable and quite nice overall. Not disappointed.

very dark amber color. Very dark for the style. Dried apricot and strawberries in the nose with nice minerally character. Very malty, and a bit heavy, lacks depth. Bitterness is there at the end but lacks presence mid-palate. Slightly heavy. Never cloying. Rough around the edges. Has potential to be great but falls short

Baeren x Mikkeller Coolship Vienna Lager 5.5% Deep ruddy brown with a thick head and nice biscuity aroma. The body is on the full/heavy side for the style as I’ve heard but the malty sweet caramel biscuit notes are solid. A nice beer though the Mikkeller connection created hype and drove up the price as Baeren has done better than this on many occasions.

Lovely stuff. Caramel sweetness, but with a light spicy hoppiness. So easy drinking!
