Rare Breed is the result of Adam Henson’s dedication to sustainable farming and a passion for characterful, artisanal beer. Using the finest Maris Otter malting barley and aromatic Fuggles hops, delicious, fruity Cascade and Amarillo hops and, of course, purest Mendip Spring Water, Rare Breed is a distinctive, clean tasting pale ale with a smooth, citrus twist. A bold, standout beer that’s one of a kind.

Cask at The Fleet Inn, Twyning. Clear amber, white head. Aroma of sweet malts, caramel, some fruit hops. Taste is the same, sweet caramel, bready/biscuity malt, fruity hop notes, light bitterness. Medium bodied.

Cask at The Partridge, Bromley. Bitter citrus, caramel malts & toffee aromas. Taste is very similar with a twist of gooseberry coming through in the back end. Long bitter linger. Good sessionable beer.

Old rating - A 500ml bottle, birthday gift from friends. Pours a darkish amber with a white head. Aromas & tastes of caramal, toffee, citrus & malt. light to medium body. Mild bitter finish. Passable pale ale

Bottle from Tesco, Cotswold area. Clear dark gold, small white head. Aroma has a sweet floral-leafy-spice character. Taste of biscuit, light toffee, grassy-spicy hop, tiny fruitiness, sweetness running through. Light to medium bodied. Decent.

Cask at the Old Red Lion, Evesham, 06/09/22. Golden amber with a good sized lasting white head. Nose is malt forward, biscuit, dried fruits, dates, herb, straw. Taste comprises biscuit malts, toffee, fruit slice, grains, straw. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Decent bitter.

Cask at the Stag & Hounds, Bristol. Pours dark orange with a small head. Aroma is bready malt. Taste is bready with some dried fruits.

Thin beige head left a clear copper coloured body. Tea & fruity aroma. Medium to thin bodied, soft with a tickle on the back - all a bit watery. Sweet, jam, malt & berry tastes with a bitter fruity finish. All a bit mixed up.
