Our friends at Van Moll joined us to brew a Baltic Porter: a dark and full bodied lager with tones of chocolate and black pepper. The copious amounts of rye made the brewing quite a challenge, but it resulted in the perfect name: Muddy Waters.

Lekker geroosterd, koffie, bitterzoete koffieboon. Vrij standaard maar lekker, romig zacht mondgevoel met een alcoholisch tikje na.

Pours a dark - but not black - colour and a brown head that immediately disappears. Aroma's of dark malts, light smoke, toast, rye. Retronasal it's sweetish, rye, toast. Flavour is moderate sweet and light roasted bitter. Above medium bodied, with a very smooth, oily mouthfeel. Finishes moderate roasty bitter. Pretty neat.

Bottle, directly from brewery. Color: Very dark ruby, thin beige head. Aroma: Dark malt, roasted malt, rye, brown sugar, chocolate notes. Taste: A lot of caramel, rye, malty, notes of sugar, chocolate, spicy notes (rye and hints of black pepper) and some vanilla notes. Moderate to over moderate sweetness and bitterness. Starting somewhat more to the sweet side and finishing somewhat more to the bitter side. Over medium body, below average carbonation. Nice complexity.

Lekker roosterig, zoetig, weinig koolzuur. Nasmaak is nog lekkerder roosterig en wat chocolade. Heel nice.
