Half pint, cask at Richard Hopkins (JDW). Patchy beige head leaving crocheted lacing down the glass. Unclear copper coloured body. Toffee and dark fruits on the nose. Mid-sweet taste profile of toffee, dark dough and a backdrop of dried fruits carefully added by roasted endnotes. Medium bodied. Nice (Newton Abbot 28.04.2017)

Bottle from B&M Bargains, Manchester. Dark, clear chestnut colour with no head. Traditional ale with a heavier fruity sweetnyin its aroma than taste, but this defines its character.

Cask at ye olde Hamitlon Hall, JDW - London. Pours well clear, deep copper with a lingering and lace-leaving tan cream head. The aroma holds dark bread, toffee and ripening fruits. Medium sweet flavorbwith prominent malt character, some toasty toffee and brown sugar, raisins, berries. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Finsih was sweet, bready, with some grapes, more berries, toffee, minimal bitterness. Quite drinkable. A nice malt-forward beer. Tasty.
