Süffiger, süßlich getreidiger Beginn. Wenig holzig, dumpf, weiche Karbonisierung. Wenig würzig, kurzer Abgang. Okay. 9/7/8/8/12/8

Bottle. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is nice resin and wood, some lightstruck stuff. Taste is the same, sweet and sugary. Thick, medium carbonation. Meh.

Bottle. Light hazy orange amber with a small head. Nose is not fantastic, a bit woody and not too strong. Flavor is better than the nose, moderately sweet and lightly oaky, bit of citrus and hop bitterness.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, orangey amber colour with small, frothy, fading, white head. Sweet-ish, fruity, malty aroma, hints of quince, a woody touch. Taste is sweet-ish, tart-ish and minimally dry, fruity, malty and minimally woody, hints of quince, orchard fruit, a touch of chestnut. Watery texture, soft and minimally dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Nice fruitiness, don't get much oaky flavours; quite watery - so-so.

0.33 l bottle from 'Bierothek', best before December 2025. A bit hazy, amber with a thin, frothy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, slightly malty aroma of caramel, some honey and a touch of grains. Gently sweet, malty, slightly bitter taste of caramel, honey and some grains, followed by a short, slightly bitter, a bit dry finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Again my expectations were high, but this series of forest beers keeps disappointing me. It's quaffable and pleasant and therefore far from bad, but it doesn't provide for anything special either.

330 ml bottle, bb Dez 2025. Orange, medium hazy body, with a small, yellowish head. Aroma of wooden barrel, honey, toffee, some dried fruits, moderate spices. Tastes pretty similar. Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation. Finishes wooden, medium sweet, spicy, a bit fruity, with honey, toffee. Nice one. Feels a bit like a light Barley Wine, with the barrique quite prominent, while also sweets malts and some spicy character. Drinks quite balanced and smooth, but I'm missing some more character or complexity. Score: 7 / 4 / 7 / 3 / 14
