Bottles from Covenhoven & Top Hops. Inadvertently bought this twice. Given that I hadn't really enjoyed the previous two, I'm a bit disappointed in myself. Ommegang anniversary glass. A murky orange, still pour. Smell is sweaty, macerated, lightly oxidized apples, musty leaves, bitter greens, wood chips, vinegar. Tart upfront, Lipton tea, extremely tannic, lemon, subdued earthy sweetness, popsicle stick, half sour funk finish. Second bottle was better for the first, even with a re-cork. Solid. Oliver's is damn good, but so scattered in distribution, glad someone else thought so too & did something about it.

[5/11/2019] Draught sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2019. Green session. Apples, wood, juicy, a bit sourish. Pretty nice.

75cl bottle. Pours misty gold, light aroma of bittersweet apple fruit. Medium dry character, soft tannins.. expected a little more of the barrel ageing to come through but it's not too noticeable, gentle wild sour, delicate fruity nuances, drying close.

Tap. Unclear golden color with white head. Aroma is calvados, green apples, apple skin, leather. Taste is mealy green apples, yellow apples, rustic leather. Mineraly mouthfeel with sparkly carbonation. Good!

ABV: 7.2%. Unclear medium yellow colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate apple, spicy, barrel, apple skin, calvados, light leather. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, apple skin, wrinkled red apples, apple, light barrel. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to lively. [20190511]

Bottle at Cider Salon, 2018. Version in collaboration with Tom Oliver. Slightly hazy golden colour, no lasting head and aroma of apple, funk. Taste is mellow apple, fruity, funky, bittersweet, with light tannin. Medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, dry tannic finish. Nicely drinkable
