Icebock comes from the process which concentrates flavours with freezing of the beer. This means that some water crystallises into ice, while the remaining liquid concentrates. For this icebock we brewed a very special barley wine, barrel aged it, blend it with our barley wine Hagger and froze it. After weeks on -24 C, it was time to drain this super rich liquid. Expect intense flavours with longlasting aftertaste and warming feeling.

330ml (thx, Renny!) @ SF.
Aroma: a lot of caramel, dark fruits, boozy.
Taste: along the same lines, moderately sweet, thick, a lot of toffee.
Overall: nice one and nicely done for a 20% ABV drink.

Medium brown, no head. The aroma has a lot of alcohol, a little bit of toffee and just a touch of fruitiness. On the palate, it's got a lot of body, and a lot of heat. There's a burnt caramel accent, a bit of nuttiness, and then more heat in the finish. It's not bad, especially if you're in the mood for something boozy. If you're not, this goes strong on the alcohol and would be a bit much.

375mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany, no head. Nose is full of dark dried fruits, big booze, subdued bourbon, and burnt brown sugar. Flavour is not as boozy as expected, with a very smooth, syrupy palate, lots of dark dried fruits, subdued bourbon, some vanilla, and brown sugar. Very viscous, syrupy palate on the finish, yet not cloying, likely partially due to the booze. Flat carb. Everything actually comes together alright. Massive, sticky, syrupy beer, but it does work.

Poured from 330mL bottle (bb 7.1.2033). Dark chestnut brown with no head. Dark dried fruits, raisins, semi-sweet, abv dangerously hidden, quite nice.

330mL bottle. Pours dark brown with no head. A lot of bready malts, bourbon, dark sugars, dried fruits on the nose; you can definitely catch the alcohols on a deep inhale. Flavour is super rich with thick bready malts, brown sugars, dark fruit; plenty of heat from the booze. Actually comes together pretty well; remarkably smooth for the ABV.

Tons of booze bark and raisins and milk chocolate. Super boozy. Doesn’t do much for me. Simple and sweet

Tap at Prague Beer Fest 2025, from the cutestest little keg ever, while assisting Bevog. The whole situation with this was hillarious - we were trying to get rid of Accom, which was fantastic but unsurprisingly had few takers early in the day, and we managed to get to the very last bit, put it on, with just what was in pipes to go. Someone immediately showed up to order it as soon as we put the paper up, but we needed to clear the pipes... So we did... but it was going and going (mind you we weren't about to throw anything away). The MOST BLOODY SEEMLESS change between the beers ever happened, the color being nearly the same, and pretty much no bubbles (one vaaague spurt maybe)... Got a lot of the blend and at least one full glass out till we realized it had changed, hah. Didn't go to waste. Great eisbarleywine/coffee-choco impy blend, mind you, but we didn't need it that early.

So what was it like, when I managed to finally try it "straight"? Brown, leaving some traces on the edges of the glass. Huge malty aroma, expected oxidation, enormous honey, caramel, dried fruit, honey, raisins and some alcohol - not much for 19.6,% but much. The taste had a fun minty, almost eucalyptus-like touch, dried fruit, caramelly, very warming, boozy, but kinda pleasantly so. We were out of it very, very quickly, and huge respect for it! I think the only reason it's below 8.0 is because it was too cold and at the wrong moment to focus fully and enjoy it.

Tap at Salon Piva. Dark copper pour with an off-white head. Nose is dried fruits, bread, light nuts, some oak and loads of booze. Taste is obviously sweet, obviously boozy too, showing bready, toasty malts, dried fruits, some bourbon, oak. The body is medium, I expected more on this front tbh. The decisive question with these beers, at least for me, is obviously whether the booze is too much or not. In this one’s it’s not, but it was a close call, more body wouldn’t have hurt. Still, a highly enjoyable sipper.
