Bottle split at the 'fuck me it's Kenny; thanks to a trade with Beau SHN - Watford, 25/06/21. Light black with a decent tan cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose carries a big bourbon rasp, fruit cake, chocolate, toffee fudge, dates. Taste comprises sweet malts, dates, raisins, cake mix, toffee, cocoa powder, dried fruit esters, big bourbon bite. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Top drawer Barley Wine (is life).

25th June 2021 Tasting at Fergus gaff. Thanks to Cloin. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, viscous, reasonable fine carbonation. Imperial stout level of dark chocolate malts, decent toffee caramel. Fruity brandy like rich fruits. Ripe fruits on the back end. Some fine alcohol spice. Very rich and fruity barleywine that shares a big border with an imperial stout..

Bottle shared at our Novi share. Thanks! Pours a deep brown to medium black with a finger of beige foam that dissipates to a ring. Big toffee, bourbon and chocolate aromas on the nose. Decadent on the palate with rich chess pie, bourbon, chocolate and toffee flavors abound. I like barley wines that tend to blend into stout territory and I feel like this hits those notes. Lingering bourbon and chocolate on the finish with toasted caramel, sorghum and brown sugar.

750mL bottle pours with a dark mahogany colored body that supports a tiny ring of bubbles. The aroma offers up molasses, plums, dates and then a bit of booze, oak and bourbon. Solid. The taste delivers smooth slick sweet molasses, plums, dates and then thin boozy bourbon. Alright. Smooth rich soft sipper that's fully integrated. Solid.
