"The most convivial of ales" as described (and often imbibed) by 'The Bard' himself has become the adopted beer of the bohemian vagabonds of the Scottish arts scene. A pale golden brew, that is cold stored with gooseberries to deliver a sharp refreshing drinking experience.

Bottle. Pours pale amber. Aroma is gooseberry indeed, strong and clean. Body is medium, pleasantly fruity, gooseberry, lively carbonation, softly bitter, decent body, well balanced. Refreshing and tasty. Good!

Hazy golden beer, light fruit aroma and a decent white head. I dunno what gooseberry tastes like so I couldn't have picked that out but I like the crisp, tanginess of it and there's a nice hint of sourness to the aftertaste. Beer garden material.

500ml bottle. Clear and golden with a moderate white head. Earthy aroma with citrus notes. Flavour is light, floral, citrus, not ad tart as I expected. A bit herbal in the finish. Not my favourite Williams Bros beer but ok

500ml bottle as Williams Bros Grozet: BBE Sep 2018. Second beer in a random tasting session with myself on 14th July 2017. Nice clean and clear pour, light amber/golden body, white blanket of foam on top. Having read ’the blurb’ on the rear label I was expecting a semi-sour Gooseberry and citrus flavoured beer, this was not the case. I liked the subtle citrusy/gooseberry infused feel and was really pleased it didn’t dominate too greatly. It’s not the first beer I’ve had with ’Bogmyrtle’ in either. Really pleased I bought this, nearly didn’t because of my boredom with citrusy golden beers. Another Williams Bros beer I enjoyed, good on them!

Bottle at work. Sprint beer. Clear golden bright coloured pour with a reluctant white frothy head. Aroma is damp hay straw, tangy citrus, lager notes, some spicy citrus rind. Flavour is composed of crisp base malts, pils, straw, tangy citrus rind, lemon, zippy, spicy notes. Palate is light and crisp with highish carbonation. Nice and drinkable. .

De tradicion indigena celta, con grosellas silvestres en la receta. Se nota en el aroma claramente frutal. Y sigue en el sabor. Dorada clara con poca espuma, carbonatacion muy correcta cuerpo moderado y final seco.

Smooth, grainy but fresh beginning. In the mainpart there are hints of citrus, if you know it you can taste the gooseberries. Lots of grain, very smooth with a dryer, dustier finish. Not too intense gooseberry-flavour, lots of grain here in the body, but round and smooth.
