16 ounce prowler into tulip glass, filled on 1/19/2019. Pours fairly crystal clear deep golden amber/light orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky cream colored head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big milk/white chocolate, cocoa, nutty medium roast coffee, honey, caramel, vanilla, cream, toasted oats, and white bread dough; with light notes of dark fruit, smoke, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of coffee, cocoa, lactose, bready malt, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of huge milk/white chocolate, cocoa, nutty medium roast coffee, honey, caramel, vanilla, cream, toasted oats, and white bread dough; with light notes of dark fruit, smoke, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Very mild herbal/grassy hop, and roasted coffee bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/white chocolate, cocoa, nutty medium roast coffee, honey, caramel, vanilla, cream, toasted oats, white bread dough, light fruit/smoke, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of coffee, cocoa, lactose, bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a solid malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying sweetness after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/coffee bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal warming alcohol for 8%. Overall this is an incredible imperial milk/sweet white stout! All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of coffee, cocoa, lactose, bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the ABV; with the minimally bitter/drying finish; amazingly soft feel. Amazing balance of rich malts, cocoa, lactose, and fruity/nutty coffee complexity; with just enough earthy hops to balance sweetness. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing style example. Best in the style I've had yet.
