A bottom-fermented premium lager made using malt, brewers’ maize hops and water. The very best raw materials, a long maturation and the lightness of the water from the Biella Alps have, since 1846, given this beer a satisfying and refined taste profile. A balanced beer with a noteworthy floral and fruity aroma thanks to the special yeasts used in its manufacture.

August 2008: 330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV in Norway is 4.7%. Crystal clear golden colour, big and lasting white head. Strong and sweetish fruity aroma. The flavour is fairly clean and zesty, no unpleasant off-flavours, moderate hops in the finish. Definitely not the worst pale lager I’ve had.

Chrimbo pressie frm relos. Aroma has citrus over malts. A hint of damp cardboard. Clear gold. Thin foamy translucent white head. Light-medium bitter. Grainy. Citrus. Underlying malts. However it's all rather synthetic seeming. Metallic undertow. Light. Slick..a tad sticky. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Not great. Industrial.

Pale golden, perfectly transparent. Low to medium sized large meshed white head, recedes relatively fast but still leaves some lacing. Slightly weak aroma of cereals and straw, with lemonish hints on the back of things. Very little going on but pleasant enough. The same in taste. Light to medium sweetness, pretty light bitterness, quite on the sweet side overall but in a mild/delicate, not cloying way. Quite light in body with average or slightly above average carbonation (the usual kind of coarse carbonation that you get in mainstream lagers, though not as coarse as in the worst examples). Overall: far from the worst generic lager you can find, far from interesting or significant.
