Bottle from Vadstena Klosterhotell, Vadstena. This did everything you would want from a Belgian tripel. It started off feeling a bit light - a trend in the Vreta beers I tasted this week- , but of course the abv kicks in and it all is forgotten before long.

Arom av fruktkaka, dadlar, russin och lite karamell. Rejäl kladdig maltighet. Smaken innehåller en hint av anis och fänkål. Mycket eldig och fyllig och med en fruktig och höig beska.

(Draught at Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, 6 Sep 2024) Pale amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, spicy nose with notes of dried fruit, caramel, apricots and herbs. Fruity, malty taste with apricots, caramel, dried fruit, brown sugar and a balanced herbal bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Quite complex, still in good balance. Well made tripel. Very nice.

Mörkgul och disig med ett medelstort och fast skum. Doften är lite fruktig. Man kan även ana lite jäst och krut. Även smaken har en viss fruktighet. Lite torr jästighet finns också. Alkoholen ger sig till känna på slutet. Svårbedömd; jag hittar inga fel, men heller inget som sticker ut på nåt positivt sätt. En anonym och basic trippel.

Solid nice beer Clear dark golden in the glass and a fine head Fine intensity in the aroma Mellow sweet and a moderate bitterness. Mild acidity. Fine carbonation level. Pleasant mouth feeling Malty, fruity, some spices, toffee and Belgian yeast in the flavor. [Bottle from Gundersen Advent Calendar 23]

Sample (thanks omhper!). Deep golden colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is toffee, alcohol, some slight spices and mild fruity elements. Flavour is caramel, some wood, mild tartness as well as some slight floral tones.
