This beer has been slowly and lovinlgy matured in world-famous Laphroaig Islay Single Malt Whisky casks. Absorbing all the deep flavours from these very special casks - spicy woodsmoke and peat, sea salt and burnt toffee - the beer adds its own rich, roasted flavour to create something as unforgettable and uncompromising as the island which inspired it.

Un lĂ©ger caramel sâimmisce dĂ©licatement dans la tourbe fumĂ©e omniprĂ©sente en olfactif. Des esters rappelant les petits fruits des champs sont Ă©galement prĂ©sents. De couleur brun cuivrĂ© profond, elle est presque limpide avec une mousse de taille moyenne, crĂ©meuse et assez persistante. La tourbe est encore une fois omniprĂ©sente en bouche avec un appui de Whisky. Les petits fruits tels la cerise sauvage et la mure rehaussent la palette. Des accents de butterscotch sont trĂšs en sourdine. La finale joint lâamertume de la tourbe et des houblons herbacĂ©s et Ă©picĂ©s. Beaucoup trop tourbĂ©e cette Scotch Ale. Câest est dĂ©sagrĂ©able. [33cl bottle from Waitrose, Bracknell.] A golden coppery brown coloured pour with a tight beige head; peaty smoked aroma; smooth in the mouth with lots of smoky meat flavours; then a sweet caramel finish with some warmth and acrid smoke that tickles the throat. Very good if youâre a fan of peaty beers or whiskies.

Bottle Laphroaig, 7.4%. Clear dark brown with small tan head. Aroma is malt, caramel, toasted, little peat and a little whisky. Flavour is malt, caramel, toasted, peat, smoke, little oak and medium bitter.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Waitrose CW. Pours clear copper-brown with a creamy, khaki head. Medium sweet flavour with lovely, rich leafy character, earth, rubber, toffee, candied citrus, smoke, light boozy warmth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and creamy texture. Sweet finish, notes of toasted sugars, peat, vanilla, mild warmth. Quite tasty.

Mahogany brown colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have a solid malt base. The Laphroaig is present but not dominant. Subtle peat and leather. Good but could be more punchy.

330 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with full head. Aromas of peat, sweet sugary malts, and raisins. Flavors of peat but more postage stamp, watery dry caramel and toasted malts. Never thought I would sample an industrial beer with Laphroaig BA, but here it is... Poundable...

330mL bottle, pours a clear dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is monolithic on the peated, smokey whiskey, with a soft bready malt base just to provide support. Flavour is as expected, being dominated by the peated smoked whiskey, a hint of caramel, and bready malt. Fairly light palate, with plentyâthough not abrasiveâLaphroaig notes. Not really that complex either, just nice peated whiskey notes. Very tasty.

Poured from 330mL bottle. Copper brown with small white head. Really nice mild peat, dominant, but not overwhelming - takes over most of the typical I&G character (vanilla and oak still very subtle in the background, compliments the peat). Really enjoyable stuff - probably my favourite I&G so far. Will have to pick up a twin pack for myself at the liquor store.

Bottle picked up at I&G Dundee. It pours clear deep ruby red with a small frothy white head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, oily, red berry, dried fruits, warming bonfire smoke, unmistakable medicinal pear reek of Laphroaig, vanilla, charred oak, jammy fruits and BBQ meats. The taste is bitter - sweet, toasty malt, touch of caramel, vanilla fudge, dried fruits, jammy red berry, peat reek, medicinal, vanilla, Laphroaig action, dry, toasty, charred, smoked vanilla custard and a hint of spice with a smooth, mellow smoke finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. Rounded and moreish. Very impressed with this. As a Laphroaig drinker this is the business.
