Can at home, from HOTM online, 07/03/21. Pitch black with a handsome tan cap that stays for the show ... a great looking beer. Nose is dark malts, treacle toffee, light spice, mellow roast, subtle smoke, dried fruits. Taste comprises dried fruits, smoked malts, cacao nibs, toffee, liquorice, light spice trail, fruit cake mix. Medium bodied with bite, fine massaging carbonation, light drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Solid stuff ... smoke is very subtle and this one slips down nicely. Looks and feels great also which helps bump the score on this juan.

Can. Wine Rack, Sharrow, Sheffield. Pours clear, deep chestnut brown. Sits black in the glass. Thin and dense, semi lacing, beige head. Nose has tar and ash. Sweet smoke. Rich roast malt. Savoury smoke. Dark chocolate coffee truffle. Taste is rich malt bitterness. Some smoky chipotle like sweetness. Full body stays the right side of drinkable. Smooth with fine carbonation. Lingering bitterness to finish. Very nice, none pastry number.
