Can, at Patricks. A dark, dark brown beer with a small dark beige head. The aroma has maple syrup, roasted and lightly burnt malts, dark sugar and a touch of alcohol. Some herbal hints and coffee notes too. It's full to medium bodied, nicelycarbonated and soft on the palate, with a sweet, maple driven flavor. Not too sweet though. Roasted malts, some burnt notes and hints of coffee, dark sugar and some alcohol too. Lasting finish. Nice indeed, but a bit too gentle I think. 220513

440ml can, Lot 0649, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Crocheted lacing from a relatively stable fawn-coloured head. Coal black in the glass. Well roasted malty aromas of coffee and black chocolate. Cocoa-chocolate flavours together wit a vibe of syrup, and dark bread followed by coffee impact to a long-loved, roasted bittersweet finish. Fine depth. Enjoyed for an hour on a Thursday afternoon. Panda at home, thanks to Fergoose, 13/01/21. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is sweet malts, syrup, chocolate, toffee, brown sugar melt. Taste comprises chocolate, coffee bean, maple syrup, roast malts, dark fruit rinds, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent stout ... doesn't go runaway sweet like some 'Canadian' named examples can do.

Can at home picked up from Brew by numbers webshop. A dark cola / mahogany brown coloured pour with a fading mid tan head. Aroma is semi sweet, spic coffee, nutty malts, light choc, cinnamon. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, woody coffee bean, maple sweetness, lightly smoked roasted malts, some spicy coffee, brown sugars, tobacco. Palate is semi sweet, dry peppery carbonation, some dry roast. Really nice. Fun stuff..
