Drawing inspiration from the sweet and savoury breakfasts of Canada we decided to brew this satisfyingly drinkable breakfast stout. A robust foundation of smoked, chocolate, black and crystal malt allows the unmistakable flavour of Canadian maple syrup to shine with the addition of coffee and cacao nibs providing a balanced complexity. The resulting beer is unctuous, full-bodied and smooth.

Can at home in Hackney - sourced from the BBNo online shop. Pours clear, deep brown with a frothy, beige head. Light to medium sweet flavour with notes of ashy roast, black coffee, burnt toast, baking cocoa, tobacco. Medium bodied with average carbonation and velvety texture. Dry ashy roast in the finish, more bitter tobacco and earth, dry cocoa, day-old coffee. Nice stuff, actually more dry and bitter than sweet.
