Tonka bean imperial stout

Black Bean is a bit Malevich here, but this beer was born as a kinda joke for black Friday. A black imperial stout, fullbodied with black tonka beans. These magical beans reminds some people of dried cherries, some of cinnamon, some of vanilla, and sometimes all of those. Well, it seems it's our first beer which have grown from super tiny batch into more, and all this thanks to your feedback. So this beer is yours as it is ours.

Drainpour.

Ukrainian strong stout flavoured with tonka beans, thanks to 77ships for sharing. Thin and open, pale greyish beige, dissolving head on a very dark chocolate brown beer with burgundy hue – not entirely pitch black. Aroma dominated by the tonka bean effect to a very large extent, marzipan, hazelnut liqueur, nougat, candied dates, macaroons, chocolate sauce, amaretto, peanuts, dried coconut, caramel, cinnamon, treacle. Sweet onset, somewhat sticky even, candied dates and brown sugar, soft carb, full and oily body, even a bit viscous; thick toffeeish, peanutty and milk-chocolatey middle, lots of warming amaretto- and cognac-like alcohol, and of course a whole lot of tonka bean flavouring, reminiscent of marzipan, coconut, cinnamon and vanilla all in one, ending with caramelly and toffeeish sweetness that lingers in booze-heated, liqueurish way. Intense, perfumey, very desserty pastry stout, very well done for what it intends to be and delivering tonka in a most generous way. Pleasantly surprised.

Clear dark brown to black beer, small creamy beige head, unstable, falls down quickly. Aroma: oh yes, lots and lots of tonka, cinnamon, soft roast, chocolate notes, lovely stuff! MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, lots of chocolate, caramel, cinnamon notes, quite some tonka, lots of vanilla, lonely stuff. Aftertaste: alcohol, sweet, caramel, tonka, milk chocolate, soft bitterness, quite some alcohol, lovely stuff, very nice beer!
