(Bottle) Pale amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Malty, slightly fruity nose with notes of sour-dough bread, apricots, honey, herbs and orange. Malty, slightly fruity taste with bread, apricots, honey, orange and a mild herbal/peppery bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

Sample (thanks omhper!). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is grainy, some sweet malty notes with a bit wooden tones. Flavour is sweet malts, some grains and mild bready tones.

[ As Remmarlöv / Riegele Maibock ].
ABV: 7.0%. Clear medium yellow orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, fruity malt, pale malt, sweet malt, rich, malty, moderate hoppy, fruity hops - grass, fruity. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, fruity hops, grass, pale malt, fruity malt, rich, malty. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20210619]

Bottle from Systembolaget. I have to admit that Maibocks are not really my style at all. I usually find them uncessarily boozy and sweet. This contribution from Remmarlov however is actually pretty darn plesant and I can see how it sneaks into the top 50. The aroma is wheaty / lagery. It has a nice golden colour with slow carbonation. The taste is initially quite rich, the sweetness and booziness is there but it is gentle and offset by a reasonable floral profile. Rating is lower than it deserves but hey ho, I have been as generous as I can be with the style.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Clear golden, small head. Aroma of clover, honey and grain. Mid sweet with medium to full body and rounded mouthfeel. Creamy grainy malt wrapped on honey. Very floral. Low bitterness in a mildly peppery finish.

Flaska från SB. Klar, mörk guldfärgad med vit krona. Maltig, brödigt, stor och fyllig, kanske lite väl värmande i alkoholen, lätt metallisk.
