Bottle bought at Cotteridge Wines. Aroma has dark fruit, malts, and a fruit vinegar sour streak. Opaque glossy dark brown. Thin foamy off-white head retreats to the rim. Rich. Dark fruit. Boozy bite. Followed by a wave of molasses. Heavy bodied. Oily. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Slips down.

275ml (thx, Jonathan M.!) shared with George @ home. Appearance: hazy dark copper with a beige head. Aroma: dark fruits, prunes, a little bit oxidized, fruity caramel, some oak. Taste: along the same lines, with noticeable harsh hoppy bitterness. Overall: pretty good, but the the finish does require some work.

275 ml bottle, vintage 2017, bb 28.01.2027, shared by Werckmeister, thanks! Dark ruby, hazy body, with a medium, creamy, light beige head. Aroma of sweet berries, caramel, molasses, moderate whisky, some soy sauce. Tastes quite similar, with more tobacco and cocoa powder. Full, creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation. Finishes medium roasty, moderate sweet, wooden, with whisky, tobacco, some sweet dark fruits. Tasty. Creamy and smooth, quite sweet, while also quite roasty towards the finish. Perfectly integrated whisky barrel, providing a dry, wooden layer. Alcohol is completely hidden. Lovely, classic style example. Score: 8 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 16

275ml bottle, 2017 vintage #223 of 380. Very dark brown with a dense beige head. Aroma of raisins, dried fruits, caramel. Taste of dried fruits, raisins, caramel/toffee, whisky barrel, oaky, sweet malts, sugary, warming booze but it suits the beer. Medium bodied,
