Russian Imperial Stouts named because of their popularity in the Russian Courts during the reign of Catherine the Great. Our version is a big chewy number, with a gentle fruity nose, matched on the tongue with a relaxed roastiness and a long fruity finish.

0.44 l can from 'Rudat', best before December 2019. Clear, very dark ruby to black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty and a little fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, some caramel and hints of dark fruits. Gently sweet, malty, quite roasty and minimally fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice and traces of dark fruits, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, earthy finish. Full body, smooth and creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very solid RIS.
