Named after a fishing fly used for luring trout, this Blonde Ale has a refreshing palate due to the use of high quality pale ale malt. By blending different hops at various stages of the brewing process, Andwell’s have produced a beautiful beer with a citrus aroma and balanced bitterness.

275ml bottle @3.9%. Pours clear gold, big frothy white head. Aroma of straw and malts. Taste is caramel, citrus, which is fine but a bit bland. However a dry peppery bitterness in the finish does elevate this beer somewhat. I quite enjoyed it.

20th Aug 2019, Shrewsbury monthly share at Chez Sophie. Cheers to me for the evenings 'cobweb', we take it turns bringing an 'out of date beer' tonight was my turn. 275ml bottle BB Aug 2018, so only 12 months out of date (or cellared for 24 months, you chose). It poured clean and clear, a light golden colour, the head a white affair. Bland and boring, even aged! Some grassy esters and a mild sweetness in the taste, but not much going on really.

275ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Aug 19, thanks Jeremy for this year out-of-date find. Lightly misty gold appearance, frothy white head. Light honey-like sweetness coming through, herbal bitterness, honey sweet malt. Bit boring, but fine.

Bottle from from Crockford Bridge Farm Shop, Addlestone. Grassy aroma with a herbal edge. Copper gold. Thick fluffy shaving foam white head. It also lasts. Light bitter. Floral and citrus sweetness creeps in. Light-medium bodied. On the thin side. Soft carbonation. Abrupt finish. Easy drinking. I don't belive I thought much of the cask version but this is less flat and more lively. Then again a style of beer designed to appeal to lager drinkers. But solid enough.

Cask ½ pint at The Crispin, Wokingham, on October 16, 2017.Slight buttery, berries, fruity taste. Malty, a bit, fruity aftertaste. A bit weak/thin mouthfeel, medium to medium low bitterness. Hazy golden color, white head with lots of lacing (weak 4 appearance, had 3 first, lacing pushed it up). Malty, fruity scent.7/4/6/2/13=3.2

Cask at PoW, Farnborough. Nil aroma. Medium gold. Thin white head. Neutral/bland umami/sweetness before developing some bitterness. Light bodied. Watery. Leaves a slick feeling in the mouth. Uninteresting but does go down easily.
