Award winning refreshing golden hoppy ale brewed with New Zealand hops. Appeals to ale and lager drinkers alike. Great with spicey food. Many are intrigued by it's name. It's quite simple really. The Cotswolds are famous for sheep and the wool industry. “Shag” is an old English word meaning a heavy or rough woolenfabric. So Shagweaver literally means “wool weaver”.

Cask. Clear amber-golden color with white head. Aroma is fruity, light toffee, a touch butterscotch. Taste is fruity, toffee fudge, caramel body, peach jelly. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. Very nice! This must have been in very good condition.

Cask at the Townhouse, Ely. Bright gold, clear with minimal head but quite a lot of lacing. Grass, cereal, and a metallic tinge to the aroma. There’s also a slight whiff of green apple. Taste is a light and slightly fruity sweet with a rounded hoppy bitter finish. There’s a bit of buttery umami in the aftertaste that I can’t get on with. Ok.
